Progressive

Each successive level of the Award demands an increased commitment and improvement. At Bronze, participants will need strong support from adults, at Silver they should be given more independence and at Gold they should be largely responsible for their own programme.

Balanced

The Award has four sections that make varying demands according to interest and abilities and contribute to the holistic development of the young people.

Enjoyable

Young people are sure to find participation enjoyable, exciting and satisfying.

Non Competitive

It is not a competition against others but a personal challenge for self-improvement.

Achievement-Focused

The Log Sheet notes positive achievement and improvement only. It provides evidence of personal success.

Voluntary

Participants are free to choose and design their activities and commitment towards the same.

Available To All

There is only one Award which is available and accessible to all with no discrimination on the grounds of caste, creed, gender, cultural background, and religion.
