What do we do?
The Award challenges young people to develop skills and tools to improve themselves and their communities by encouraging them to go beyond their comfort zone. IAYP unique framework is designed to help them discover that they are more capable and powerful than they think.

Benefit of The Award Program
- Young people choose their own path through the framework, building their own individual programmes. In doing so, they discover new things about themselves and develop the skills, behaviour and attitudes needed to be good citizens.
- When they earn their Award, they receive internationally acclaimed recognition of their achievements.
- The demands on the young people for admission into top colleges and universities, both within India and abroad, require them to be able to think critically, think conceptually, and develop research and analytical skills.
- The Award experience stimulates the abilities of Confidence; Resilience and determination; Relationships and leadership; Creativity and adaptability; Planning and problem solving; and Communication.
- A first class academic education is essential, but it’s only half the story of what a young person needs to equip themselves for life. Not only do they need a good formal education, they need a great non-formal education too. Non-formal education is what goes on outside the classroom – sport and physical recreation, community service, adventurous activity and the development of life skills.
- Non-formal education helps young people to develop the qualities of perseverance, grit, curiosity, optimism and selfcontrol. They are known as ‘character’ and the ‘development of character’ is the business of International Award for Young People India.
- We help equip young people for life. The Award also provides a framework for schools and youth organizations when planning their non-formal education activities.
